Trish Ensing has been a classroom teacher, working as a learning consultant for home learning families, and a one-on-one/small group tutor for 25 years.  She has been trained to offer the research based program called  Literacy Links  for children and adults who struggle with reading and spelling due to learning  challenges.  Developed in 1997 by the Calgary Academy, Literacy Links is a highly effective 30-hour program that incorporates the best practices of Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell and other well known phonics based programs.  The Literacy Links approach is very structured and sequential, using symbols, visual aides, and interactive activities teaching students to decode all the sounds of English and blend them together to decipher and create words.

Trish is easy to speak with and listen to.  If you have any questions please see the Frequently Asked Questions area. If you still have further questions, feel free to connect with her via the contact page here.

What People Are Saying

“Prior to beginning the this program, my ten year old son rarely read for pleasure. Within several sessions he was eager to read aloud to me, and I could hear a noticeable difference in his fluency. Best of all, he was asking to read extra before bed each night!”

— Kali, mom of 10 yr old

“I would recommend this program because there is not much writing, the lessons don’t take long, and it’s interactive.”

— Luke, age 12

“My son is an 8 year old boy who found reading to be a struggle. He would read to me each day and soon get tired and frustrated. To my surprise he came out of the sessions gleeful. partly because Trish made it fun for him to learn, but also it started to make sense. Trish and this program have helped him close the gap on his learning to read journey. I couldn’t be happier with his progress in such a short amount of time.’

— Robin, mom of 8yr old

“Literacy Links is a program like no other!  My 11 year old daughter with a severe learning disability is now reading at almost a grade 4 level after spending thousands of dollars and hours on community tutorial programs which absolutely did not work.  My only wish is that I had found the Literacy Links program earlier! Trish is a most excellent teacher giving my daughter the confidence to keep persevering through her patient, caring attitude. I can’t say enough positive things about the Literacy Links program and have even recommended it to our Paediatrician to tell other parents about it.”
